CLA Fast 2025
“CADENCE”
Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus!
For the month of January, we will be entering into a time of prayer and fasting along with many other believers around the world. We are joining together with the theme of the World Network of Prayer. World Network of Prayer has chosen the theme CADENCE, with the sub-theme, “Marching Orders.” A military cadence is a call-and-response vocal that serves to keep soldiers in unison during running or marching workouts. These rhythmic words, often led by a military leader, help to maintain the pace and morale of the troops while fostering a sense of camaraderie and teamwork.
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity” (Psalm 133:1).
The cadence usually consists of simple, repetitive memorable, and synchronized phrases with physical movements. Cadence helps each service member to keep their head up, breathe better, and have more stamina. Let’s join in spiritual cadence and in prayer and fasting as the Lord of Host, Mighty in Battle, leads us to victory!
ca·dence ˈkā-dᵊn(t)s A consistent repeated beat, time, flow, pattern, or measure of sequential rhythmical motion, sounds, and activity. Ex: Like military personnel singing and stepping in unison.
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way” (Psalm 37:23).
In military operations “marching orders,” are specific instructions given to soldiers regarding their movement, formation, and objectives, usually to proceed or to march forward. Simply meaning, where to go next and what actions to take. This military deployment gives the phrase a sense of urgency and mission-readiness. Marching orders are also often used figuratively, meaning a green light to go! So, let’s go!
